Ethanol Absolute is undenatured anhydrous ethanol, also known as 100% ethyl alcohol, only able to be supplied to holders of a suitable Customs permit.
This ethanol = ethyl alcohol made from sugars to ensure it is pure to meet food and pharmaceutical requirements.
Ethanol Absolute is clear and pure, it contains no dye or no bitrex, and has a pleasant alcoholic odour.
It possesses a low boiling point, a high rate of evaporation, and high solvent power.
Ethanol Absolute finds applications in tinctures, beverages, hand sanitiser, laboratory solvent, conservation work in museums and galleries, perfumery, inks, paints, lacquers, adhesives, nail polish and nail polish remover, fuel, electronics cleaning and de-watering, and as a clean-up solvent for fiberglassing.
Ethanol can be used as a cleaning agent, where its fast evaporation speeds up the process and often prevents the need to clean the surface afterwards.
This fast evaporation lends itself useful in sanding wood, as it helps draw dust and shavings out from between the grains leaving a visibly cleaner product than could be achieved with water.
