ASCORBIC ACID is a mild organic acid more commonly known as Vitamin C. It is used as a food additive and is commonly found in supplements. ASCORBIC ACID can be used as a fungicide, preservative and processing aid.
ASCORBIC ACID is used in brewing to improve the shelf life of beers and to prevent the development of oxidation haze. ASCORBIC ACID can also be used to prevent discolouration in foods due to its anti-oxidising properties, such as in cut fruits, juices, and in the meat industry. For baking it can be used as an improving agent.
